Serving Saturday at Symphony Manor

Saturday, February 6th was the Greater Richmond Church of Christ’s first official Serving Day. All around the city disciples were giving their hearts and hands to others in need; and we had a blast doing it!

About ten of us went over the Symphony Manor, a retirement home in the West End, to paint the nails of the ladies who lived there. There were so many smiles, hugs, and shiny colors, and I think that both the residents and the disciples who came gained so much love and joy from the experience. I am reminded of Jesus’ description in Matthew 25 of what it will be like when he returns.

The opportunity to be among those who saw someone in need and went to help and encourage them, only to find out that it was the Lord we were serving, makes me feel so honored! I know that there are many more people who still need help, and the disciples here in Richmond are more than ready to serve.

To God be the glory!
