Each year, the International Churches of Christ collect a Special Missions Contribution for the purpose of providing financial support to foreign and domestic churches. The Greater Richmond Church of Christ will be raising funds for the work of advancing the Gospel in Chennai, India and the surrounding area. This year our goal is to raise $60,000. This year the church will be doing a Walk-a-Thon. Church members will be gathering at Deep Run Park on Saturday, May 21st and will be walking a 5 mile course. Please feel free to participate by either giving a donation or joining us in our walk. (See below for a walk-a-thon pledge sheet.)
When Nalini, a sister in Chennai, decided to start following Jesus she immediately faced serious persecution from her father. He kicked her out of the house, beat publicly in front of 300 people, handed her to the police, and continued to cause her distress for three years.
