The Bible in a Year

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
Acts 2:42-47

Acts shows us a great snapshot of what the 1st Century church was like. Here in Acts 2:42, the key word is devoted! The disciples of Jesus' purpose was to be devoted to Christ, His mission, and his people. According to this text, they were devoted to the Apostle's teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer.

Here at the GRCOC, our aim is to live the exact same way--- devoted! We have put this challenge, to every member of the congregation: read the entire bible this year! We have provided several reading plans to help us stay focused. For all those that read the entire bible this year, will be rewarded with a free bible at the end of the year! Reading the entire bible in one year is a great accomplishment, but what is more important is this simple slogan...

Read it. Obey it. Share it.
