First Hope Scouts Wednesday Night Devotional

In John 13 Jesus provided a powerful example for his disciples to follow as he washed their feet. The king of kings and Lord of lords took the humbling position of a servant to teach his children that love must be sacrificial and often times uncomfortable. All Kindergartners through Preteens engaged in this Bible story as they listened and then acted in accordance with Jesus's words.

"Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them."
John 13:17

To be willing to wash our brother or sister's feet means that we must not shrink back from the thank-less, dirty, and ignoble opportunities that God presents in our lives. It is only through times like these, that we are able to get a glimpse of what it must really be like to love like Jesus!

Hope Scouts will be serving at the NamiWalk in Innsbrook on October 21st at 10am. Please contact Rukeithia Williams (804) 972-7523 to RSVP that your child will be able to serve at this event.
